Efe Omorogbe to discuss digital media and entertainment at Harvard Business School

Efe Omorogbe, founder and CEO of Now Muzik Limited, is one of the panelists to discuss digital and media entertainment at the technology and media session of the 16th Annual Africa Business Conference of Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts between February 28 and March 2, 2014.

With the theme  ‘Africa Accelerates: Equipping a Vibrant African Economy’, the conference recognizes the need for Africa to change gears on its growth story and move beyond commodities led growth to focus on human capital development internally.

The conference believes that the entertainment industry is a mirror of our culture thus the success and failure of this industry depends on the skills of the people working on stage and behind the scenes.
 Thus, the co-founder/director at 960 Music Group will join other panelists to discuss the latest movements in marketing and distribution on the continent and also examine the opportunities the creative fields generate to move Africa forward.

2FACE, BABA DEE, SOUND SULTAN, DEDE MABIAKU, DAMMY KRANE AND MANY MORE PARTY WITH EDI LAWANI AT PLAYA'S BALL

 To say the second edition of Now Muzik En.Core’s Playa’s Ball was a success would be an understatement. The Crème de la crème of the entertainment industry turned out in droves to celebrate the godfather; Edi Lawani , who has contributed immensely to the growth and success of the entertainment industry as well as played a crucial role in the success of many individuals in Nigeria today.
The exclusive party which held at Club Rumors on January 31st, 2013 was organized by Now Muzik En.Core in conjunction with 2face’s Club Rumors and supported by Chelsea London Dry Gin and Teezers.

Veteran artiste, Nomoreloss, anchored the event which started with an opening prayer by Mr. Laolu Ekins . The event rolled on with a short and captivating documentary of Edi Lawani travails in the entertainment world after which the strictly 'shot-callers' audience were entertained to a special request performance by Abdul of Black Tribe and other thrilling performances by Dammy Krane, Crystals ( Star Quest 2012 winners) and Lt Shotgun.


Also at the event was the Head of Marketing, Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL),  Mr. Innocent Oboh, who gave a speech commending Edi Lawani selfless contribution to the growth of the entertainment industry. According to him, “Teezers and Chelsea are youth-oriented products that seek to satisfy the passion of their teeming consumers, this is why we are celebrating with stars in the entertainment industry to honour an icon, as Edi Lawani, who has given so much to the music industry".


Playa's Ball roll call included included Nomoreloss, Ras Kimono, 2face Idiba, Alariwo, Zaaki Adze, Tony Okoroji, Annie Idibia, Suny Neji, Efa, D'beat band, DJ Humility, Sound Sultan, Baba Dee, Laolu Ekins, Rocksteady, Dele Mabiaku, and many others who were all high spirited and partied into the wee hours of the next day.

'The Guru' as he is usually referred to, was pleased to receive a special gift presented to him  by the chairman of COSON, Chief Tony Okoroji.


Edi Lawani has built a name in the corporate and entertainment industry in a range of activities not limited to events management, marketing strategy and communications, TV production, promotions and more. In the past, he has bagged numerous awards such as the Artistes manager of the year (NMA 1994), Special Recognition Award for contribution to the music industry in Nigeria (Fame Music Awards 2008), Hall of Fame (Hip-Hop World Awards 2008), and a Lifetime Achievement Awards 2011 (South South Music Awards). Currently Edi is the head consultant, Showbiz Network / Paragonis Multi-media productions.
