2face honoured at the Banquet of Stars Against Cancer

In appreciation of his support to wage war against cancer, 2face was honoured as one of the Special Philanthropies of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Goodwill Ambassadors of the BIG WAR against Cancer in Nigeria, along with Lady Maiden Ibru.
The event was the Banquet of Stars against Cancer (BOSAC) which held at Eko Hotel and Suite where the living legend also performed alongside Sir Emeka Nwokedi, the conductor of the Lagos City Chorale and orchestra of MUSON.
The honoree had to forego the star-studded MAMA held in South Africa, to perform for a cause he believed in as his dad was also diagnosed of cancer.
2face, through his 2face Idibia Reach-Out Foundation, has dedicated a great amount of time, effort and resources towards reaching out to fellow humans in need. "What we do for ourselves dies with us but what we do for others remains immortal," he posits. He believes also that help is best served quietly. "The Big War Against Cancer is one we all must commit to. The statistics are really scary and the impact is close to home," he concludes.
BOSAC is a benefit event, of The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria), to raise funds in support of the BIG WAR Against Cancer in Nigeria. The BIG WAR Against Cancer aims to take cancer prevention to the grassroots through the use of Mobile Cancer Centres (MCC); each MCC costs N 95 million. Currently over 100,000 Nigerians are diagnosed with cancer and 80,000 die from the disease every year. The Nigerian death ratio of 4 in 5 is the worst in the whole world.

2FACE IDIBIA's MILLION VOICES FOR PEACE (MVP) PRESENTS "BREAK THE SILENCE".

In a timely response to the global call for the release of the abducted Chibok girls and the restoration of peace in Nigeria, galaxy of stars under the umbrella of 2face Idibia's Million Voices for Peace (MVP) project have recorded a song to articulate their call for peace and unity and raise funds to support the work of the Nigerian Red Cross.
MVP on this song features 2face Idibia, Precision Productions (Trinidad & Tobago), Samini (Ghana), K-Slim, PKD, Squadee (Ghana), Spyke, Sound Sultan, Essence, Righteousman, Jo El, Ferre Galo (DRC) and Machel Montano (Trinidad & Tobago).

Idibia, speaking from France stated thus: "The call for the safe return of the Chibok Girls and real work towards peace building must be sustained. This is just another step in the journey towards the promotion of peace and unity in our nation and the world."
According to Efe Omorogbe of Now Muzik/Hypertek Digital/960 MG, coordinator of the project, this is coming at a very crucial time when the reality of the situation has hit everyone really hard. This wonderful group of patriots, supported by their brothers from the sub continent and the Caribbean have done one better than tweet and shout. We believe the message will reach the people and that proceeds from sale will help the work of the Red Cross. We also intend to help mobilize volunteers to turn up and assist the Red Cross and NEMA in their humanitarian efforts.

We sincerely thank the artistes for their contribution and also acknowledge the invaluable support Mamadie Kobele Keita, Winnie Kigara, Kasey Phillips, Keke Ogungbe, Pamela Braid, Leslie Quaynor, Sola Animashaun, Emma Eboigbe, Justin Ukaegbu and the team at Now Muzik, Hypertek Digital/960 Music Group and the 2face Idibia Reach-Out Foundation.

With the recent spate of violence caused by religious insurgents, political turmoil, and corruption in all facets of our existence, the release of the video for the single NO! could not have been scheduled for a more appropriate time than this. The 2Face Campus tour was exciting and educating - Ifeanyi

Although we encountered some challenges especially in the area of crowd control in all the schools toured, most especially in Uniben since everyone wanted to be a part of the show.

UNIBEN: The show held at the school’s sports complex. The location was suitable for the massive crowd that attended the show, it seemed to me like a gathering of the whole of Benin city as the roads to Uniben were blocked .The crowd outside the venue was overwhelming which made it difficult for 2face and other performing artists to gain access.

At a point, ticket sales came to a halt and the gates were thrown open for the crowd to enter, this idea was to reduce the crowd to give 2face easy passage in.

All the artists on the tour gave captivating performances to the admiration of their young fans, the likes of Seyi Shay, Capital Femi, Harry Song, Vector, Dencia, Solid Star, Dammy Krane, Rock Steady etc rocked the stage to their best ability.

The unadulterated sound by DJ Willie O held everyone spellbound throughout
the event. The height of the fun was when Africa's best himself, 2baba came on stage and gave the students the best show they have ever witnessed. Many danced and sang along as the legend entertained them to their satisfaction. Uniben was successful.

UNIPORT: The Uniport leg, also held at their indoor sports complex, was also a huge success despite the inconvenient weather. The crowd was equally massive and co-operative.

2face delivered his legendary trademark performance after music stars Seyi Shay,Solid Star, Phyno, Rock Steady, Dammy Krane and Vector stimulated the fun-loving Uniport student with highly professional performances.

IMT ENUGU
: Before the show here, 2face Idibia visited IMT which happens to be his alma mater and was honoured by the school rector, he was also given an award for being at the fore front of Nigeria entertainment and accomplishing great heights
through music.

The show held outside the campus, the long distance from the campus and the
heavy rainfall affected the expected crowd but those that attended contributed to the success of the tour and had a wonderful time with 2face and his co-stars.

UNIABUJA: Like the IMT show, the Uniabuja leg held outside the campus, but close to the school. The show was amazing; I personally think it was the best part of the tour. At first it appeared that only few students would attend, but I was proved wrong; about an hour later, people started streaming in and the crowd became uncontrollable but I and my team sorted things out gradually.

Artistes that graced the show included Rock Steady, Dammy Krane, Vector, Solid
Star, Azadus and of course the man who brought everyone together; 2face Idibia himself. Abuja was a successful show indeed.

UNILAG: Unilag campus connect was the last leg of the tour and held in their
indoor sport complex. The show was a huge success despite the heavy rain fall. Although it was highly tasking trying to co-ordinate the students, everything went on smoothly as planned.

MI, Vector, Solid Star, Seyi Shay, Rock Steady, Dammy Krane and Butafly
were among the artistes who entertained the crowd. 2face finally closed the show with a spectacular performance

Big ups to Mr. Efe Omorogbe and the entire Now Muzik crew for the effective plan and coordination throughout the duration of the tour. It was a wonderful
experience working with you all and getting better on the job. Long live the
legend 2baba!
