2face honoured at the Banquet of Stars Against Cancer

In appreciation of his support to wage war against cancer, 2face was honoured as one of the Special Philanthropies of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Goodwill Ambassadors of the BIG WAR against Cancer in Nigeria, along with Lady Maiden Ibru.
The event was the Banquet of Stars against Cancer (BOSAC) which held at Eko Hotel and Suite where the living legend also performed alongside Sir Emeka Nwokedi, the conductor of the Lagos City Chorale and orchestra of MUSON.
The honoree had to forego the star-studded MAMA held in South Africa, to perform for a cause he believed in as his dad was also diagnosed of cancer.
2face, through his 2face Idibia Reach-Out Foundation, has dedicated a great amount of time, effort and resources towards reaching out to fellow humans in need. "What we do for ourselves dies with us but what we do for others remains immortal," he posits. He believes also that help is best served quietly. "The Big War Against Cancer is one we all must commit to. The statistics are really scary and the impact is close to home," he concludes.
BOSAC is a benefit event, of The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria), to raise funds in support of the BIG WAR Against Cancer in Nigeria. The BIG WAR Against Cancer aims to take cancer prevention to the grassroots through the use of Mobile Cancer Centres (MCC); each MCC costs N 95 million. Currently over 100,000 Nigerians are diagnosed with cancer and 80,000 die from the disease every year. The Nigerian death ratio of 4 in 5 is the worst in the whole world.

2FACE DEBUTS NEW SINGLE LET SOMEBODY LOVE YOU; FEATURES ROCNATION’S BRIDGET KELLY

Nigeria’s finest and arguably the number one artiste in African urban contemporary music, 2Face Idibia, is set to drop the first single off his sixth studio album ‘The Ascension’.

The single ‘Let Somebody Love You’ was recorded and produced by 2Face’s producer Femi ‘Femdouble’ Ojetunde and features Rocnation artiste, American singer Bridget Kelly.

According to the multiple-award winner, “the idea for the song comes from people who act like they can do without the love and support of other people. The truth, whether we accept it or not, is that everybody needs somebody.”

The duo performed the single for the first time at the Makurdi Rocks date of the Star Trek concert series to a wild and appreciative audience earlier this year.

“This song is all about giving room for more love”, 2Face says. “Like a diamond in the rough, we need to let our light shine through. The healthiest way to do that is by loving and being loved”, he adds, borrowing a line from the second verse of the single.

Without any doubt the most accomplished artiste of his generation, 2Face Idibia put out his first recording Body & Soul as a member of the trio Plantashun Boiz in 1999. Fifteen years later, having gone through more ups and downs to panic even a seasoned stockbroker, the artiste has emerged a newer, stronger brand winning several awards for all of his past releases.

Let Somebody Love You is available on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/album/id883288502 and Spinlet online music stores.
