HOW TO APOLOGIZE GRACEFULLY

We all make mistakes and have the capability to hurt people through our behaviors and actions, whether these are intentional or not. So, we need to learn how to apologize; which shows remorse over an action and an acknowledgment of the hurt that action has caused to someone else.
It is the most effective way to restore trust and balance in a relationship, when you've done something wrong. It opens a dialogue and also shows that you restore dignity to the person you hurt.
Mind you, a sincere apology shows that you're taking responsibility for your actions. This can strengthen your self-confidence, self-respect, and reputation.
On the other hand, refusal to apologize can damage your relationships with colleagues, clients, friends, or family, harm your reputation, limit your career opportunities, and lower your effectiveness as others may not want to work with you.
However, some people still refuse to apologize and it simply means they are either cowards or arrogant because apologies take courage. It's up to you if you want to be this arrogant, but, if you do, don't expect to be seen as a wise or an inspiring leader.
In an article in the Journal of Psycholinguistic Research, psychologists Steven Scher and John Darley present a four-step framework that you can use when you make an apology.

Step 1: Express remorse
Every apology needs to start with two magic words: "I'm sorry," or "I apologize." This is essential, because these words express remorse over your actions. Your words need to be sincere and authentic. Be honest with yourself, and with the other person, about why you want to apologize. Never make an apology when you have ulterior motives, or if you see it as a means to an end. Timeliness is also important here. Apologize as soon as you realize that you've wronged someone else.
Step 2: Admit responsibility
Admit responsibility for your actions or behavior, and acknowledge what you did. Here, you need to empathize with the person you wronged, and demonstrate that you understand how you made her feel. Don't make assumptions – instead, simply try to put yourself  in that person's shoes and imagine how she felt.
Step 3: Make amends
When you make amends, you take action to make the situation right. Think carefully about this step. Token gestures or empty promises will do more harm than good. Because you feel guilty, you might also be tempted to give more than what's appropriate – so be proportionate in what you offer.
Step 4: Promise that it won’t happen again
Your last step is to explain that you won't repeat the action or behavior. This step is important because you reassure the other person that you're going to change your behavior. This helps you rebuild trust and repair the relationship. Make sure that you honor this commitment in the days or weeks to come – if you promise to change your behavior, but don't follow through, others will question your reputation and your trustworthiness.

KENDRICK LAMAR: KING OF HIP-HOP?

There are 3 ways in which one can attain royalty, these are through hereditary, popular appointment and force (not so popular appointment).  Now the first method is the most recognized method, for example the son of Kate Middleton and Prince William's will grow up and sit on the British throne when he comes of age. Then fortune and virtue according to Machiavelli, good luck and fortune can lead to popular appointment because of skill and achievements, and then there is force which involves the execution of the king and his loyalist and other possible competition for the post of king, a coup de tat for an example all too familiar to Nigeria.

I got on twitter yesterday and saw the trend My Face When I Heard Kendrick's Verse For The First Time with a lot of funny GIFs, Jpegs, memes with each tweet, I knew Kdot has done it again, since section.80, I have downloaded any song I see featuring Kendrick Lamar because it’s never a disappointment, and it's always exciting to hear him deliver ferocious metaphor, simile and puns in di and tripple syllables. So i checked the trend timeline for a link and found out it was a Big Sean song Control which also features Jay Electronica, downloaded it to hear what the hoopla was about only to hear this... "I'm usually homeboys with the same n**gas I'm rhyming with / But this is hip-hop and them n**gas should know what time it is / And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha-T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller / I got love for you all but I'm trying to murder you n**gas."

I then understood what the fuss was about. The rapper came out guns swinging and taking shots at people who he call home boys, who he has been on tracks with and telling the rest of the rap industry "new N!@@@$" not to get involved.

Different reactions have trailed the verse, some have tagged it ‘verse of the year’, while others refer to it as a diss verse. Although some rappers he called out are still yet to respond, some are taking it as a slight. However Big K.R.I.T is happy he was mentioned among the top new rappers. Well like I said earlier to attain royalty there are 3 ways? I guess the Compton rapper is not satisfied with popular appointment, as history has shown popular appointment make you a target and there will always be a peer who thinks he's equally qualified or even better.

Kendrick Lamar gained popular appointment when MTV gave him hottest MC in the game just after the release of his debut major label album and his debut on the list, he won BET awards for his album, singles and even a feature on ASAP Rocky's hit Problems. The rapper however has gone on the offensive in a bid to protect his crown taking out his peers with a force of that of a ruthless king.

Shots have been fired and we wait for a response. Already, BOB and Joel Ortiz have responded on wax, let's see if Drake will brush it off as just friendly competition and release the hottest album of 2013 as he has promised or drop a diss or some sort of reply. The question also goes to Mac Miller, ASAP, Jcole, Big Sean, Jay Elect, meek Mill and Tyler.

May be the Emcees he called out will start dropping disses or maybe they'll start famzing as has become the industry norm. Kendrick has proven he doesn't need to famz to sell a million. Drake and Dr Dre were the most popular features on his Good Kid m.A.A.d City album, he means business and wants to be king of the rap game and he'll compete with his peers if it takes that to reach the pinnacle.

It is an exciting rap game again thanks to King Kendrick, on a last note the verse is really not a diss, It is more of asserting that he is competitive and that he would kill every rapper on wax (Lyrically), that is the competitive nature of Hip Hop and it is the new rapper he left out that should be offended maybe a 2chainz, Rick Ross, B.O.B e.t.c
