Veteran artiste, Nomoreloss, anchored the event which started with an opening prayer by Mr. Laolu Ekins . The event rolled on with a short and captivating documentary of Edi Lawani travails in the entertainment world after which the strictly 'shot-callers' audience were entertained to a special request performance by Abdul of Black Tribe and other thrilling performances by Dammy Krane, Crystals ( Star Quest 2012 winners) and Lt Shotgun.
Playa's Ball roll call included included Nomoreloss, Ras Kimono, 2face Idiba, Alariwo, Zaaki Adze, Tony Okoroji, Annie Idibia, Suny Neji, Efa, D'beat band, DJ Humility, Sound Sultan, Baba Dee, Laolu Ekins, Rocksteady, Dele Mabiaku, and many others who were all high spirited and partied into the wee hours of the next day.
'The Guru' as he is usually referred to, was pleased to receive a special gift presented to him by the chairman of COSON, Chief Tony Okoroji.
Edi Lawani has built a name in the corporate and entertainment industry in a range of activities not limited to events management, marketing strategy and communications, TV production, promotions and more. In the past, he has bagged numerous awards such as the Artistes manager of the year (NMA 1994), Special Recognition Award for contribution to the music industry in Nigeria (Fame Music Awards 2008), Hall of Fame (Hip-Hop World Awards 2008), and a Lifetime Achievement Awards 2011 (South South Music Awards). Currently Edi is the head consultant, Showbiz Network / Paragonis Multi-media productions.
